Sluggish PS3 sales have to be a motivating factor behind all of this, because the $150 million check from HD DVD is a drop in the bucket compared to the profits made on the "winning format". I agree with you that there are not going to be people aware of the Paramount exclusivity deal, but they will be aware of the movies that are and aren't available on each format. People will see Transformers on the shelves of HD DVD and not on the shelves of Blu-Ray....that's how people WILL be aware, and that is the most effective tool.

PGR gets knocked all the time, but I think it's a lot of fun. No, it's not a realistic racing sim, but it's not supposed to be. It's all about fast cars with challenging tracks, and bad ass online play. If anything the PGR series is underrated. For a racing game the graphics and gameplay have always been above par.
